CSAD HOODIES WEBSITE
Introduction:
Whilst preparing for our course showcase, as a group we came up with a fundraising idea to help with the cost of the show build. A group of us designed hoodies that we would then sell, not just to our cohort, but fellow students within CSAD (Cardiff School of Art and Design).
Objective:
The aim of this project was to create an eccommerce website to host the hoodies. As this was a fundraising project, costs had to be kept to a minimum to help us maximise our profit. We wanted a site that would be accessible from anywhere on any device, a responsive design was key to this.
Website Features:
• Product Gallery: A showcase of the hoodies, and individual designs and sizes.
• About Us Page: This was a space that explained about the fundraiser and what the money would be going towards, along with a walkthrough of how to order and key information.
• Order Management: This was very beneficial as it gave us live order updates and allowed us to track payments, customers and allowed us to send out notifications to customers once their order was ready for collection.
• Responsive Design: Ensuring the website is accessible and optimised for any device, whether it's a desktop, tablet, or mobile, providing a seamless experience for all visitors.
Conclusion:
This website turned out to be a great success and allowed us to not only manage orders and payments more proffesionally and efficiently but also to receive more orders due to an easy payment method and remote purchase capabiities.
The host of the website was FreeWebStore.com. The only cost from the website was a 1.27% charge per order to stripe for the payments.
Throughout multiple interactions with fellow students and campus staff, the overall response to our website was amazing. We were commended on our proffessionalism and management on the ordering system that allowed us to track payments, orders and customers.
Having an ecommerce website was something that previous fundraisers in our university had not done before, we were told that it was a big improvement from in person, cash only type events.
Social Media Marketing Posts
I designed a set of social media marketing posts and stories that would be posted to the university instagram account throughout the course of our fundraiser to raise awareness of our project to other students and staff.
I kept the branding consistent and ensured that brand values were followed throughtout all of the designs.
Discount Voucher Codes
I came up with the idea of a promotional event to get more orders through the use of voucher codes. I designed the following codes and printed them off.
The plan was to go around and offer people a chance to win up to a 25% discount on any order through our website. The plan was not only to offer people a discount coupon but also improve our brands image, recognition and retention. By winning something it becomes something of value to the individual.
I knew that many people wouldnt buy one there and then so having something to take away with them would help the brands retention and potentially remind them later in the day when they look at it again or find it in their pocket.
These codes were trackable and we made a fair few sales through these codes.
Hoodie Animations
I made these mockups in Blender and they were used as promotional videos on instagram to increase the marketing of the product.
